Nancy Ooki is an Extension Agent with the University of Hawaii Manoa Cooperative Extension Faculty for Maui County 4-H and Youth Development Programs. She works with faculty at the University of Hawai‘i and other universities to design curricula and implement programs that support informal education with a focus on Technology, Agriculture, and Workforce Development / Life Skills. Her current work includes the GET Local Initiative and ROOTED in Agriculture projects, which educate youth about the importance of local agriculture, and the CYFAR Creating a Village program, which offers training in life management skills such as financial literacy, self-care, maintenance, and healthy living in an environment supported by teen mentors, youth-adult partners, and content experts.
