About me
Christine Hanakawa is the Oahu 4-H Assistant Extension Agent of the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Christine’s experience includes working with youth, families, and communities through non-formal education and outreach for over 20 years. Christine organized various workshops, day camps, family activity nights, afterschool programs, and volunteer opportunities. She also manages over 30 adult volunteer leaders who works with traditional and SPIN (short-term, special interest project) 4-H Clubs. Christine enjoys engaging youth and adults in gardening and food systems, STEM, healthy living, leadership, civic engagement, and service-learning opportunities.
